Christmas Tree Pass The first photo is looking SE from Spirit Mt. which is north of Christmas Tree Pass.  In the left distance Lake Mohave and Davis Dam which regulate the flow of Hoover Dam and Lake Mead 67 miles upstream to the left (North).  To the right the Colorado River continues South passing Bullhead City on the Arizona side and Laughlin on the Nevada side. Christmas Tree Pass is located in the SW corner of the Lake Mead Recreation Area, about 5 miles NW of Laughlin.  The rock formations are larger than in Joshua Tree so I am surprised the area doesn't get more climbers.  This is the one place one only wants to visit during the coldest time of the year.  NPS rules and rangers abound in both areas so there isn't much difference there.
