Mt. Wallace 13,377'
Mt. Wallace is on the Sierra crestline between Piute Pass and Bishop Pass. On day 1 we hiked from Lake Sabrina to Moonlight Lake. The second day we hiked toward Echo Lake and climbed a gully heading NW that brought us to the north face of Mt. Wallace, and then to the summit. On day three we hiked back from Moonlight Lake.
The first photo is looking SE from the summit. Mt. Wallace reminds me more than any other peak of John Muir's description "The Range of Light".
Below is Diane prying herself out of the chimney. Mt Wallace is unique in having a four sided chimney, a tube, that one climbs through to get to the top.
