East to McCarran airport and those casinos.
On the east side of Las Vegas is Frenchman Mt. There are some antennas and a dirt road to the summit but it was too steep for our 4wd so we walked it. Leaving one's vehicle at the bottom near #147 is sort of risky since the gangbangers are out in force. Despite BLM signs prohibiting camping and shooting we heard continuous gunfire during our entire ascent. Perhaps those BLM officers aren't up to telling people to stop shooting?
